The Paintings (cont.)

And here are the rest!

The Paintings

Here are some more detailed images of the paintings in the exhibit by Megan and Houston Trueblood. They're grouped just as they were in the exhibit. Each piece is based on one of the six different themes of the project: Sou da Bahia, Renewal, Resistance, Innocence, Aspiration, Rhythm.

Posted here are the first three, with the second three coming right up. Houston's paintings are on the left and Megan's are on the right. Enjoy!

Thank You! (Cont.)

Thank You!

Well, the exhibit came down last night. It seems like it was up for such a short amount of time. We're so grateful for all of those who helped with the project in any way: we literally couldn't have done it without you! Thanks to all of those who came out to the receptions. It was wonderful to see so many of you there, showing us your support and appreciation.

For those of you who weren't able to make it, here are some photos of the exhibit in its entirety. We'll be posting each of the pieces separately on this blog for a closer look, but we thought it would be nice for everyone to be able to see the layout and space of the whole thing.

Enjoy!

CORRECTIONS & DIRECTIONS

IMPORTANT: A number of you who received physical invitations may have received one that says the documentary premiere will be in the "Joseph" Knight Building. THIS IS WRONG. It's the JESSE Knight Building (JKB). Same time (7:00 pm), same room (2111).

Here is a map that shows the location of the both events. The buildings are within easy walking distance of one another.

Megan's and Houston's Paintings

Here are a couple of pieces for the show we've been working on. We still need a few finishing touches, but these ones are pretty much done and ready to go. Enjoy! Megan's is the portrait and mine is the landscape.

Paintings Up Soon

Some of you might be saying to yourselves, "Isn't this exhibit supposed to have some paintings?"

Right you are, meus amigos.

Megan and I are painting away, and we've been working up all of our paintings to the same level of finish. So thought we've gotten a lot done, none of them are ready yet.

We're going to switch gears now though, and we should have one or two ready to photograph and post to the blog by early next week.

We do, however, have a wonderful painting from our bahian artist friend, Josué Souza, which is posted here.

More work to come, soon!
